Dr. Tushar J. Palekar, Ph.D., is the Principal and Professor at Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, where he has served since 2004. He also holds the position of Dean, Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences. Palekar's academic background includes a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) earned in 1995 from Dr. M.V. Shetty Trust, Institute of Health Sciences, Mangalore, Karnataka; a Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Hand Conditions obtained in 2002 from SRM College of Physiotherapy, Chennai; and a Ph.D. awarded in 2015 from Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. His doctoral dissertation, "A Study on stress in Physiotherapy students by self-reported questionnaires, clinical parameters and EMG activity," was supervised by Dr. M.G. Mokashi with Dr. Kakrani as co-guide. Before joining Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, he worked as an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at Pravara Medical Trust and Rural Medical College from 2003 to 2004.
