Dr. Tina Ting Chui Huon is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Curtin University Malaysia. She earned her Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil and Construction Engineering from Curtin University in 2009 and her PhD in Structural Engineering from the same institution in 2014. Having joined Curtin Sarawak in 2014, she has established herself as a dedicated educator and researcher in the field. She is professionally registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), holds graduate membership in the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and is a chartered member of Engineers Australia (EA).
Dr. Ting's research centers on cold-formed steel structures, focusing on the behavior of built-up sections including back-to-back channels, gapped channels, and box sections subjected to axial compression and flexural loads. Her investigations cover screw spacing effects, local-overall buckling interactions, corrosion on self-drilling screw connections, and finite element modeling using ABAQUS for simulations and parametric studies. Key publications include: Roy, K., Lau, H.H., Fang, Z., Masood, R., Ting, T.C.H., Lim, J.B.P., Lee, V.C.C. (2022). Effects of corrosion on the strength of self-drilling screw connections in cold-formed steel structures—experiments and finite element modelling.
