Thomas Stewart holds the position of Professor and Department Chair in Academic Enrichment at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. With a robust academic background, he earned his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University, and a master’s degree from Shippensburg University. These qualifications have positioned him to lead initiatives focused on academic support and student development.
Throughout his career at Kutztown University, Stewart has assumed pivotal administrative roles dedicated to bolstering student academic achievement. As Director of Tutoring Services, he managed tutoring programs providing vital assistance to students. In his capacity as Director of Summer Studies, he directed summer academic offerings to aid students in progressing their education. Furthermore, as Director of Academic Support for Student-Athletes, he supported athletes in maintaining academic standards alongside their sports commitments. Stewart's engagement in faculty governance is notable through his service as President of the Kutztown University chapter of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) for four years until 2022, during which he liaised with administration on issues including student support amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2022, he was elected APSCUF Treasurer, handling financial reports, annual budgeting, and expense approvals at the statewide level. His sustained contributions are acknowledged in university service milestone recognitions.
