Dr. Tashi Zhaxiduojie is an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Curtin Medical School, Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. He holds a PhD in Cardiovascular Health Sciences from Curtin University, awarded with a Chancellor’s Commendation, recognising his position in the top 5% of doctoral graduates. Additional qualifications include an MBBS and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Dr. Zhaxiduojie undertook advanced cardiology training overseas prior to relocating to Australia, where he completed specialised fellowship training in imaging cardiology, bringing extensive international and local experience to his practice.
In his career, Dr. Zhaxiduojie serves as Consultant Cardiologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and, from 2025, at Fiona Stanley Hospital. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. At Curtin, he engages in academic research and medical education, concentrating on innovations in cardiovascular care delivery, digital health, and heart failure management. His research emphasises digital health solutions for chronic cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure and hypertension. He has led and contributed to multiple investigator-led and collaborative projects, with results published in leading international journals, such as the SMARTphone and social media-based Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention (SMART-CR/SP) study protocol in BMJ Open (2018). Clinically, his expertise spans advanced cardiac imaging—including transthoracic, transoesophageal, and stress echocardiography, as well as CT coronary angiography—general cardiology for heart failure, hypertension, lipid disorders, and chest pain; valvular heart disease diagnosis and transcatheter interventions; and ischaemic heart disease management.
