Dr. Swati Dubey Mishra serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Shri Vaishnav Institute of Forensic Science at Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. She obtained her Ph.D. in Forensic Science from Dr. Harisingh Gour University in 2012, M.Sc. in Criminology and Forensic Science as a gold medalist in 2004, and B.Sc. in Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Hindi, and English in 2002 from the same institution. She qualified UGC-NET in Forensic Science in 2005. Her professional journey includes Assistant Professor roles at Shri Vaishnav Institute of Forensic Science from 2016 to 2022, and at Government Holkar Science College, Indore from 2013 to 2016. Earlier positions encompass Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow at Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University and the Directorate of Forensic Science, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, as well as visiting faculty roles.

Dr. Mishra's research specializations include Forensic Science, Criminology, poisonous plants analysis via GC-MS, handwriting analysis, fingerprint patterns for identification and sex/hand determination, DNA barcoding, and forensic nanotechnology. Notable publications comprise journal articles such as "Single-digit fingerprint analysis for hand determination: A study of twinned loops" (Journal of Medicine, Science and the Law, 2020), "Fingerprint analysis for the determination of hand origin (right/left) using the axis slant in whorl patterns" (Forensic Sciences Research, 2020), "Novel Approach for Personal Identification Using Dorsal Knuckle Crease Patterns: A Pilot Study" (Mapana Journal of Sciences, 2024), and "GC-MS Analysis of Diospyros montana (Roxb.)
