Dr. Suresh Mamidi serves as Assistant Professor (Grade-II) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Agartala since 2022. He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, with a thesis entitled 'Hard Carbon as Anode for Lithium ion Battery: Design & Materials Aspects' under the supervision of the CARBON Lab. Following his doctoral studies, he was awarded the National Postdoctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), India, in 2021 (Ref. No. PDF/2021/002821). His academic trajectory reflects a strong commitment to advancing materials engineering for energy applications.
Dr. Mamidi's research interests encompass energy storage devices, carbon microelectromechanical systems (CMEMS), and electrochemistry, particularly focusing on high-performance electrodes for lithium-ion, lithium-CO2, and sodium-ion batteries. He currently leads the SERB-Start-up Research Grant (SERB-SERG) project titled 'Hierarchical Electrodes: Advanced Design Strategies and Engineering for Na-ion Battery' in the Chemical Engineering Department. He has produced 18 publications, including 15 journal articles, 1 book chapter, and 2 conference proceedings, spanning 2017 to 2026, with 176 citations, an h-index of 8, and collaborations with 115 co-authors. Notable recognitions include the INYAS National Award for Best PhD Thesis in Carbon Materials (2020), Best PhD Thesis in Energy and Mobility from KPIT-IISER Pune (2020), Best Image in NANOARTOGRAPHY 2019 by Drexel University, USA (2019), and Best Oral Presentation at ChEmference 2018 by IIT Bombay Chemical Engineering Department (2018). These achievements underscore his impact in sustainable energy materials research.
