Shih-Hsiung Liu is a Distinguished Professor in the Teacher Education Center at National Changhua University of Education in Taiwan, contributing significantly to the field of Education. He earned his Ph.D. in education, with a focus on integrating technology into instruction, from National Pingtung University of Education in 2005. Prior to academia, Liu worked as a primary school teacher for 17 years following his graduation from Tainan Teachers' College in 1988. His university career began at Shu-Te University of Science and Technology in August 2006. In 2007, he joined National Changhua University of Education as an Assistant Professor, progressing to Associate Professor and then Professor in February 2012. He was appointed Full-Time Distinguished Professor at the Teacher Education Center in August 2022. Liu has held key administrative roles, including Head of the Practicum Guidance Group and Director of the Teacher Education Center.
Liu's research specializations encompass pre-service and in-service teacher education, particularly technology integration, teacher collaboration in instruction, school-based professional development, network video applications in practicum guidance, and lesson observation and discussion. He has authored several books published by Wu-Nan Book Inc., including 《教學實踐研究的寫作與知能》 (Writing and Knowledge of Teaching Practice Research), 《素養導向的教學實務:教師共備觀議課的深度對話》 (Competency-Oriented Teaching Practice: In-Depth Dialogue in Teacher Collaborative Lesson Observation and Discussion), 《教學實務研究與教研論文寫作》 (Teaching Practice Research and Writing of Educational Research Papers), 《教育實習與教師之路:成為教師的十四堂課》 (Educational Practicum and the Path to Teaching: Fourteen Lessons to Become a Teacher), and 《臺灣學校需要的學習共同體》 (Learning Communities Needed in Taiwanese Schools). He has also published around 40 articles in SSCI, TSSCI, ESCI, and Scopus-indexed journals such as Computers & Education, Educational Technology & Society, and Technology, Pedagogy and Education. Among his major awards are 17 National Science and Technology Council research projects, seven consecutive years of Ministry of Education Teaching Practice Research Projects with the Outstanding Award in 2020, Ministry of Education Teacher Education Model Award, ten NSTC Incentive Scholarships for Special Excellent Talent, three National Changhua University of Education Outstanding Research Awards, two Outstanding Teaching Awards, and a Textbook Development Incentive Award. Liu serves as a consultant for Ministry of Education and local government teacher professional development projects and is frequently invited by Taiwanese schools and universities to mentor in-service teachers and guide teaching research paper writing, enhancing teacher education practices through technology-enhanced collaboration.
