Dr. Sev Nagalingam serves as Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management within the School of Management, College of Business and Law at Adelaide University. He earned his PhD from the University of South Australia in 1999, where he proposed a novel approach to justifying investments in advanced manufacturing technologies. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, obtained in 1990. His career includes previous roles at UniSA-STEM, Air Lanka Ltd in Sri Lanka, and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya.
His research specializations encompass sustainable supply chains, supply chain management, technology management, operations management, collaborative systems, sustainable procurement, risk and resilience in supply chains, logistics and supply chain management, productivity improvement, and manufacturing operations diagnostics, particularly for small and medium manufacturing enterprises. Dr. Nagalingam has obtained significant funding, including an Australian Research Council (ARC) small grant in 2000 titled “Development of an Integrated Architecture for Virtual Computer Integrated Manufacturing” and an ARC linkage grant in 2003 entitled “Development of a Global Decision Support System towards Virtual Manufacturing,” as well as numerous internal competitive grants. He is recognized as a Senior Member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), USA, until 2022, and holds the MCIPS qualification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Australia.

Dr. Nagalingam teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students and is eligible to supervise Master's and PhD candidates. His work impacts the fields of supply chain resilience and sustainability.
