Rate My Professor Seeram Ramakrishna

Seeram Ramakrishna is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He serves as Director of the Center for Nanofibers and Nanotechnology. He earned his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Cambridge. Ramakrishna is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng). His research focuses on nanofibers, electrospinning, and nanotechnology, with extensive contributions to materials engineering. He has authored the book An Introduction to Electrospinning and Nanofibers (2005) and numerous peer-reviewed papers. Ramakrishna has held senior leadership positions at NUS, including Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vice-President (Research Strategy). He has received awards such as the NUS Outstanding University Researcher Award, the Singapore Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship, and the Cambridge Nehru Scholarship. Recognized as a highly cited researcher in materials science and cross-fields by Clarivate Analytics, his work has advanced applications in nanocomposites and related technologies.
