Scott Galloway is a Professor of Marketing at New York University Stern School of Business, where he joined the faculty in 2002 and teaches Brand Strategy and Digital Marketing to second-year MBA students. He earned an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992 and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987. Galloway's academic interests center on brand strategy, digital marketing, and the digital competence of prestige brands, as evidenced by his authorship of the Digital IQ Index, a global ranking of brands' digital performance. His areas of expertise include companies such as Apple, Facebook, and The New York Times Company, as well as industries like luxury goods and marketing topics including social media.
Galloway has a distinguished entrepreneurial career, having founded Prophet, a global brand strategy consultancy with over 250 professionals; Red Envelope, an e-commerce firm that achieved $100 million in revenue by 2007; and L2, a subscription-based business intelligence firm serving prestige brands. He is the author of several influential books, including The Four: The Hidden DNA of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google; The Algebra of Happiness: Notes on the Pursuit of Success, Love, and Meaning; Post Corona: From Crisis to Opportunity; Adrift: America in 100 Charts; The Algebra of Wealth: A Simple Formula for Financial Security; and Notes on Being a Man. Galloway hosts The Prof G Show podcast and provides commentary featured in major media outlets. His contributions have earned him recognition as one of the world's 50 best business school professors by Poets & Quants in 2012 and election to the World Economic Forum's Global Leaders of Tomorrow. He has served on the boards of directors for Eddie Bauer, The New York Times Company, Gateway Computers, and Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
