Dr. Satya Amirapu is a Senior Professional Practice Fellow in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Otago's Dunedin School of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Health Sciences Division. He holds academic degrees including BSc, MBBS, and Doctor of Medicine. With more than 25 years of experience in histotechnology and pathology, his career includes prior roles as a pathologist in India and as a histotechnologist and medical laboratory scientist in New Zealand, holding registration with NZIMLS. Before joining the University of Otago, Dr. Amirapu worked as a senior histologist at the University of Auckland's Histology Laboratory in the School of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
Dr. Amirapu's research interests center on medicine, particularly the brain and gastrointestinal tract including the liver. He has contributed to 32 publications, garnering over 516 citations.
