Santosh Kumar is an Assistant Professor of Biology at McMurry University. His research centers on bacterial genetics and physiology, with particular emphasis on the identification of stress-related and antibiotic resistance genes as well as the application of metabolic engineering techniques. Dr. Kumar investigates the role and regulation of transcription factors in bacteria and explores the discovery of natural antimicrobials along with their mechanisms of action. He maintains an active laboratory at the university in Abilene, Texas, where he conducts studies in microbiology and related fields.
