He concurrently serves as President Assistant for Governance since September 2022. His extensive administrative career at PTUK includes multiple terms as Vice President for Academic Affairs (2009-2013, 2014-2017, 2018-2022), Acting President on several occasions, President Assistant for Institutional Building (2013-2014), and President Consultant for Academic Development (2013-2014). Earlier positions encompass Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at Arab American University-Jenin (2002-2009), where he also chaired the department and dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He began his academic journey as a graduate student and part-time instructor at Bilkent University in Turkey (1994-2000), followed by Assistant Professor roles at Al-Quds Open University (2000-2002). Mallak earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Bilkent University in 2000 with a thesis on Gibbs measures and phase transitions in one-dimensional models, an M.S. in Mathematics from the same institution in 1996, and a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Yarmouk University in Jordan in 1993.

His research specializations encompass mathematical analysis, theoretical applied mathematics, phase transitions and stochastic processes, fuzzy sets and systems, fractional derivatives, and methods of teaching mathematics. Key publications include 'Density Gibbs States and Uniqueness Conditions in One-Dimensional Models' (Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1999), 'Limit Theorems for non-stationary discrete time Markov Chains' (Journal of Al Quds Open University, 2004), 'A class of 1-Dim. Models with unique ground states that admits phase transitions' (Journal of Dynamical Systems and Geometric Theories, 2005), 'Existence of Limit Cycles in Predator-Prey System with a Functional Response of the form arctan(ax)' (Communications in Mathematical Analysis, 2006), 'Particular Fuzzy Numbers and Their Application to Regular 2x2 Fuzzy Markov Chains' (Journal of Dynamical Systems and Geometric Theories, 2011), and 'Numerical Treatment of Hybrid Fuzzy Differential Equations' (Computation, 2022). Mallak has contributed editorially as Editor-in-Chief of the Palestine Technical University Research Journal and served on numerous committees, including as chairman of the organizing committee for the Sixth Palestinian Conference on Modern Trends in Mathematics and Physics, coordinator of the Palestinian National Olympiad of School Mathematics 2014, and head of academic committees at PTUK.
