Dr. S. Arivazhagan serves as Professor and Principal in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. He obtained his BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1986, ME in Applied Electronics from Anna University, Chennai in 1993, and PhD in Image Processing from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in 2005. Beginning his career at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti as Associate Lecturer from 1986 to 1987, he joined Mepco Schlenk Engineering College in July 1987 as Associate Lecturer and advanced through positions including Lecturer (1988-1995), Senior Lecturer (1995-1998), Assistant Professor (1998-2003), Associate Professor (2003-2005), Professor and Head (2005-2012), to his current role as Principal since June 2012, accumulating over 39 years of teaching experience.

His research specializations encompass Image Processing and Applied Electronics. Dr. Arivazhagan has published 165 journal articles, 166 conference papers, and 26 books. Dr. Arivazhagan holds 4 granted patents, such as 'Automated intelligence gathering from Gartner magic quadrant images' (2024), and has delivered 107 guest lectures. He completed a fellowship at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1999.
