Dr. Rosita Endah Epse Yocgo has been affiliated with the Institute for Plant Biotechnology at Stellenbosch University, where she conducted postdoctoral research in plant biotechnology. Her work at the university included contributions to studies on plant defense mechanisms and related molecular biology topics. She previously completed her PhD at the University of Pretoria in 2011, with a thesis titled 'Functional characterization of two banana NPR1 genes for pathogen defense response in Arabidopsis.' Additional affiliations have included the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences and, more recently, the University of Ottawa.
Her research has focused on areas such as plant physiology, molecular biology, climate impacts, and ecological modelling. Key publications include papers on NPR1-like genes in banana (2008, 2009, 2012), a phenomics approach to glutathione influence in Arabidopsis (2013), factors facilitating sustainable scientific partnerships (2020), insect pollinators and crop value in Rwanda (2023), and modelling of cassava brown streak disease and related pests (2024). She has also contributed to work on post-gene silencing bioinformatics protocols for plant-defence gene validation (2017).
