Ms Robyn Harvey is a Lecturer in Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery within the College of Health at Adelaide University. She works as a registered nurse academic in the UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences Academic Unit at the Whyalla Campus. Harvey earned her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of South Australia in 1997, a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Cardiac), and recently completed a Bachelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science from Federation University. These qualifications underpin her commitment to integrating diverse knowledge areas into nursing education and practice.
Harvey's career encompasses extensive clinical practice internationally and throughout Australia, including leadership roles in intensive care, cardiothoracic intensive care, cardiac catheterization laboratory, clinical education, and remote area nursing. She is passionate about mentoring junior staff and student nurses to support their professional growth. In teaching, she applies an inquiry-based framework to engage students by stimulating curiosity and promoting self-directed learning in a safe, supportive environment, particularly in the Bachelor of Nursing program. Her research specializations involve developing inquiries that utilize her veterinary and wildlife science expertise to inform nursing practice.
