Dr. Ravichandran Subramaniam is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance and Director of the Master in International Business program in the Faculty of Business at Monash University Malaysia. He holds a professional accounting qualification as CPA (Australia), a Master of Business Administration in Accountancy awarded in 2002, a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Malaya in 2011 with a thesis titled "Investment opportunity set and dividend policy in Malaysia: Some evidence on the role of government ownership, family ownership, board size and board composition," and a General Certificate in Higher Education from Monash University in 2015. Before entering academia full-time, he gained industry experience as an internal auditor in two reputable Malaysian financial institutions and as Internal Audit Manager in a multinational corporation. He has also served as a facilitator at various established universities, Head of Accounting and Finance, and Head of the American Degree Transfer Program.
His research specializations include Corporate Governance, Behavioral Finance, Corporate Social Reporting, Auditing, Financial Technology, and Banking, particularly focusing on regulation and risk management. Key publications comprise "Collaboration or compliance? Unpacking ESG performance and carbon penalties" co-authored with Manjeevan Seera and Shyamala Dhoraisingam Samuel (Sustainable Futures, 2025), "Capital market effects of corporate transparency and sustainability: evidence from an emerging economy" with Yee Ko and Susela Devi (Journal of Asia Business Studies, 2024), "Sustainable environmental management practices: evidence from hotels in Malaysia" with Puspavathy Rassiah, Norita Mohd Nasir, and Hajara Mohamed Saleeth (Global Sustainability, 2024), "Leadership in Action: Sustainable Finance Case Studies" (2024), and "Anti-Corruption: Implementing TRUST principles for business integrity competence" (2024). Dr. Subramaniam has been recognized with the School of Business Excellence Awards 2025 for Education Excellence and the Early Semester Student Feedback Survey Award 2025. He has contributed to public initiatives such as the UNGCMYB’s Business Integrity Knowledge Session in 2024 and the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals in 2025. His scholarly work has accumulated over 600 citations, reflecting his impact in the field of finance and business.
