Dr. Raju Ahamed serves as a Lecturer in the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. His academic background encompasses a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Curtin University, funded by the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship, an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering from the International Islamic University Malaysia, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology. Before his current appointment, he held the position of casual academic at Curtin University, contributing to research and teaching in mechanical engineering disciplines.
Dr. Ahamed's research interests center on vibration power harvesting, ocean wave energy converters, magnetorheological materials, and renewable energy technologies. His contributions include investigations into magnetic spring-based nonlinear oscillator systems, linear electromagnetic generators, and power take-off systems for wave energy conversion, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability. Prominent publications feature "Advancements of wave energy converters based on power take off (PTO) systems: A review" (Ocean Engineering, 2020); "A state of art on magneto-rheological materials and their potential applications" (Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2018); "Renewable energy in Bangladesh: current situation and future prospect" (International Journal of Sustainable Energy, 2020); "A review of the linear generator type of wave energy converters’ power take-off systems" (Sustainability, 2022); "Dynamic analysis of magnetic spring-based nonlinear oscillator system" (Nonlinear Dynamics, 2023); "Two-Degrees-of-Freedom (2DOF) Magnetic Spring-Based Electromagnetic Energy Harvester" (Applied Sciences, 2025); and "Single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) Magnetic Spring-based Linear Electromagnetic Generator" (Journal of Vibration Engineering & Technologies, 2025).
