Dr Paul Murray serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Curtin School of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. He is also part of the Curtin Medical School team. Since joining the School of Pharmacy at Curtin University in 2001, Murray has taken on significant teaching leadership roles, including Chemistry Program Leader and coordinator for the third-year Bachelor of Pharmacy program in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. As unit coordinator for CHEM1006 Pharmaceutical Chemistry, he delivers instruction in key areas of pharmaceutical education essential for health sciences students preparing for professional practice.
Murray's dedication to teaching excellence has earned him notable recognition. He was awarded the Guild Excellence in Teaching Award by Curtin University for outstanding undergraduate teaching. In 2015, he received a Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning from the Australian Awards for University Teaching. This national honor specifically commended his excellence in teaching and contemporary curricula leadership in pharmaceutical chemistry, which led to sustained improvements in student outcomes. Through these contributions and his long-term commitment over more than two decades at Curtin University, Murray has made a substantial impact on pharmacy and health sciences education.
