Dr. Patricia "Trish" Isaacs served as Professor of Accounting, Associate Dean, and MBA Director in the College of Business at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). She earned a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and a B.S. in Accounting from Berea College. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Isaacs began her academic career at Berea College as a professor of accounting and chair of the Department of Economics and Business, where she received the Hager Award for Excellence in Advising in 2005. At EKU, she progressed from Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems to administrative leadership roles, overseeing the MBA program and contributing to faculty governance, including service on the BU Curriculum Committee.
Isaacs's research and scholarship centered on accounting and tax topics as well as teaching and learning innovations. Notable publications include "Agile Teaching and the Agile Manifesto" (2022), presented at EKU's Pedagogicon; "A Path for Achieving Career-Focused Learning Outcomes" (2024), co-authored with Kim Kincer; "Income Tax Workshop for Child Care Providers" (2015); and contributions to IMA's Strategic Finance such as "Take Your Program to the Next Level" (2016) and articles on the IMA Higher Education Endorsement Program. She played a key role in securing IMA endorsement for EKU's BBA in Accounting program and served on IMA's Committee on Academic Relations as a Campus Advocate. Isaacs facilitated community impact through her courses, including Accounting 322 Income Tax I, where students partnered with local agencies to offer free tax preparation services. Recently retired in 2026 after decades of service, her dedication as an alumna, educator, and administrator has profoundly influenced business education at EKU.
