Pasha Agoes, Ph.D., is an Assistant Instructional Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator at the William & Grace Dial Center for Speech and Communication Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida. His specialty is Organizational Communication. Dr. Agoes earned his Doctor of Philosophy in American Studies from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, in 2022. His dissertation, titled "White-Collar Colonialism in Multinational Companies and Organizations in Jakarta, Indonesia," addresses themes relevant to organizational dynamics in international contexts. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed a bachelor's degree in communication at the University at Buffalo.
In his instructional role, Dr. Agoes teaches a diverse array of courses tailored to communication majors and interdisciplinary programs. Upper-division offerings include Small Group Communication; Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Team Building; Conflict Management and Negotiation; and Experiential Learning. Foundational courses under his purview encompass Introduction to Public Speaking and Introduction to Interpersonal Communication. He also leads special topics classes such as Corporate Communication, Spirituality and Communication (COM4930), Organizational Communication (COM3120), and IDS 2935: Orientalism and Colonialism. Dr. Agoes contributes courses to the UF Quest and CLAS Beyond120 programs, supporting innovative educational pathways. His syllabi emphasize student engagement, well-being resources like U Matter We Care, and clear expectations for academic success.
Dr. Agoes serves the university through extensive committee work and governance, including as a Faculty Senator representing the Dial Center. He holds the position of Academic Manager for the University of Florida-Binus International University Cooperation, overseeing partnerships such as virtual exchange projects. Recognitions include being named a Finalist for the 2024 UF Dial Center Advisor of the Year, the Global Teaching & Learning Certificate, and the Intercultural Leadership Institute credential, all issued by the University of Florida.
