Dr. P. Nagarajan serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus. He holds a Ph.D. in VLSI Design (Advanced Communication Systems Applications) from Anna University, Chennai, awarded in March 2015. He completed his M.E. in Applied Electronics from Anna University in June 2009, achieving university rank holder status and receiving a medal and merit certificate. His foundational degree, B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, was awarded by Anna University in May 2007. Dr. Nagarajan's career trajectory includes serving as Professor at Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, Chennai, from October 2020 to January 2023; Associate Professor at Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, Tirupati, from July 2017 to October 2020; Associate Professor at VEL Tech University, Chennai, from February 2016 to July 2017; Lecturer and Assistant Professor at PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul; and Teaching Assistant at RVS College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul.

His research focuses on VLSI Design, Mixed-signal VLSI Design, Digital Signal Processing, ASIC Design, CMOS VLSI Design, CAD VLSI, Testing of VLSI Circuits, electromagnetic fields, transmission lines, mobile communication, and FPGA implementation for biomedical and hyperspectral image processing. Notable publications include “Design and Simulation of a Novel 16T SRAM Cell for Low Power Memory Architecture” in Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers (2023), “Cancer Detection Using Multi-layered Kretschmann Configuration–based Refractive Index Sensor” in Plasmonics (2024), “Design and Analysis of a Plasmonic Metasurface-Based Graphene Sensor for Highly Sensitive and Label-Free Detection of COVID-19 Biomarkers” in Plasmonics (2024), and contributions to IETE Journal of Research (2024). He has authored books such as VLSI Design (Scholar’s Press, 2023), Advanced Digital System Design (2022), and Advanced Embedded System Design (2021). Dr. Nagarajan holds granted patents like “Design of Power Gated Double Edge Triggered Flip Flop Using Sleep Transistor Technique” (2024) and several published Indian patents in VLSI circuit modeling and biomedical image processing. As Co-Principal Investigator, he contributed to an ISRO-funded project on optimized miniature antenna modules valued at ₹33.4 lakhs. He guides Ph.D. scholars in VLSI and RF circuit modeling and has conducted workshops on VLSI architectures for biomedical applications and nano CMOS VLSI circuits.
