Dr. P. Chithralekha serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti, a position she has held since 2012 following her appointment to the faculty on February 5, 2007. With 18 years of teaching experience in undergraduate Physics courses, she has undertaken extensive administrative responsibilities, including Chief Invigilator, NSS Programme Officer and RRC Programme Officer from 2012 to 2016, multiple convenor roles from 2014 to 2023, Staff Council Member since 2012, Discipline Committee Member, Admission Committee Member, Academic Council Member, Senate Member of M.S. University, Tirunelveli from 2020 to 2023, and Presiding Officer in 2011 and 2024. She currently acts as Convenor of the Internal Complaints Committee. Additionally, she serves on the Physics Board of M.S. University as Question Paper Setter and Allied Physics Valuation Board member, and maintains professional memberships in the Ultrasonic Society of India and Indian Laser Association.

Her academic qualifications comprise a Ph.D. in Ultrasonic Acoustics from Thiagarajar College, Madurai Kamaraj University in 2023, an M.Phil. in Acoustics from Pondicherry University in 2003, and an M.Sc. in Condensed Matter Physics from Pondicherry University in 2002. Dr. Chithralekha's research specializations are Ultrasonics and Photoacoustics, evidenced by her completion of a UGC-sponsored minor research project sanctioned Rs. 3,00,000, her Ph.D. thesis on acoustical properties, and authorship of 2 Scopus-indexed papers along with 13 other publications. Notable works include 'The study on ultrasonic velocities of CoxFe3-xO4 nanoferrofluid prepared by coprecipitation method' published in Nanosystems: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (2016, Vol. 7, No. 3, pp. 558-560) and 'A STUDY ON ACOUSTICAL PROPERTIES OF' in Stochastic Modeling & (2022, Vol. 26, No. 3). She has presented 31 papers as a resource person at national and international conferences, such as the International Conference on Nano Science & Engineering Applications (2014), International Conference on Perspectives in Vibrational Spectroscopy (2014), and International Conference on Advanced Solid State Symposium (2019). Dr. Chithralekha has attended numerous faculty development programs, including UGC-sponsored refresher and orientation courses, and received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Tamil Nadu State Aids Control Society for organizing a voluntary blood donation camp in 2015-2016.
