Rate My Professor Olufunmilola Abraham

Abraham's academic interests center on improving medication safety and pharmacy practice for vulnerable and underserved populations, including children, adolescents, young adults, women, racial and ethnic minorities, and patients with chronic health conditions. Her research specializations include pediatric health services research, medication safety, game-based learning, technology use for self-management such as in cystic fibrosis, pharmacist-led interventions for chronic disease management, patient and stakeholder engagement, and community-based participatory research. Directing the CRoME Research Lab, she developed the MedSMARxT game to educate teens on opioid safety, collaborated with UW Health Cystic Fibrosis Clinic—earning a UW Fall Research Competition award—and received an American Cancer Society grant to study Wisconsin teenagers' knowledge of HPV and cancer prevention. She also created the Gospel and Afrobeat Dance Medicine (GAME) program to promote wellness through culturally relevant dance. Among her honors are the NIH/UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research KL2 Scholar award, Fellowship in the UW Collaborative Center for Health Equity, Fellowship in the UW Morgridge Center for Public Service, and a 2024 Clinical and Community Outcomes Research Pilot Award from ICTR. Her work has influenced medication use policies and advanced patient-centered care in clinical and community pharmacy settings.
