About Nurali

Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, Doctor of Technical Sciences, serves as Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in Baku, Azerbaijan, a position he has held since January 2021. Born on March 28, 1963, he graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute's Electroenergetics Faculty in 1986, specializing in the cybernetics of electric systems. His extensive career in the energy sector began in 1986 at Sumgayit 1 CHP as an electric mechanic and shift foreman, progressing through various roles at Azerenergy ASC, including chief dispatcher, deputy chief engineer, and head of the Central Dispatch Department from 2002 to 2009. From 2009 to 2012, he directed the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research and Design Energetics Institute and chaired the Specialized Dissertation Council on electric stations and power systems. Subsequent positions included senior advisor to the Minister of Economy and Industry, head of the Strategic Planning Department, and from 2015, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources.

Yusifbeyli is an Honored Engineer of Azerbaijan (2005), Honored Scientist of Azerbaijan (2014), Honored Power Engineer of the CIS (2004), recipient of the Golden Buta award (2011), and winner of innovation competitions organized by the Ministry of Economy and UN Azerbaijan (second place) and FAO (first place). He is the author of 8 books, 4 authorship certificates, 1 textbook, 3 patents, 3 Azerbaijan Standards, and over 170 scientific works. His research focuses on electric power systems, dispatcher management, and renewable energy technologies. He serves as Chief Editor of the international journal 'ELECTRO-energetics-technics-mechanics+control,' Chair of Dissertation Council ED 2.04, member of IEEE, and editorial boards of journals such as 'Problems of Energetics' and 'Applied Mathematics.' Since 1998, he has engaged in pedagogical activities as a professor at chairs of Management and Automation at AzTU, Electroenergetics at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, and Head of Heat Energetics chair. At AzTU, he contributes to academic program development, international collaborations, and scientific conferences on energy and engineering.
