About Nityananda

Prof. (Dr.) Nityananda Mondal is a distinguished Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics at BCDA College of Pharmacy and Technology, Hridaypur, Barasat, Kolkata. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacy, along with M.Pharm., B.Pharm., D.Pharm., and B.Sc. (Physics Honours). With a robust professional trajectory exceeding 19 years and 8 months as of July 1, 2025—including 18 years and 10 months in teaching and 5 years in research—he plays a pivotal role in pharmaceutical education at this Pharmacy Council of India-approved institution affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). As one of the experienced core faculty members since the college's inception in 2006, Prof. Mondal contributes to the development of skilled pharmacists through his extensive teaching expertise and mentorship.

Prof. Mondal's scholarly output includes 3 publications in international journals, 6 conference proceedings, and 4 abstracts, reflecting his engagement in pharmaceutical research. His academic excellence is underscored by several honors: National Scholarship award winner in 1985 and 1987, first position in the order of merit in D.Pharm (West Bengal) in 1994, and GATE qualification in 1999. He participated in AICTE-sponsored Quality Improvement Programmes at Jadavpur University in 2005, 2007, and 2009. In professional leadership, he served as Treasurer (2006-2009) and Joint Secretary (2010-2013) of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Bengal Branch, and was elected State President of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), West Bengal Branch, for 2022-2027. Recognized as a Ph.D. guide at MAKAUT, he also holds membership in the college's Governing Body as the Representative of Professors, further amplifying his influence in the field of pharmacy education and practice.
