Niccolo Capanni is a Fixed Term P/T Lecturer in the School of Computing at The Robert Gordon University. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Strathclyde, an MSc in computer science and communications engineering, and a PhD from The Robert Gordon University, where his thesis examined the functionality of spatial and time-domain artificial neural models. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Capanni’s academic work centres on computing, with research interests including artificial neural networks, connectionism, back propagation, and evolutionary algorithms. His publications include work on distributed aggregation of heterogeneous web-based fine art information and a novel design for an automatic lighting control system. In addition to his lecturing role, he has been involved in technical operations and founding activities in technology ventures.
