Lim Jen Nee Jones is a Senior Lecturer (Education Focused) in the Malaysia School of Engineering at Monash University. She earned her BEng in Mechanical Engineering and PhD from Monash University. Jones began her career as a lecturer at Monash University, coordinating Engineering Design units and engaging with local industry partners. She currently serves as the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Coordinator for Mechanical Engineering and has led projects including the Pilot Study on Mentoring Scheme for Warman Design and Fluid Project in Engineering Design 1.
Her research focuses on design and development of mechanical systems and engineering education through blended learning. Key areas include design analyses in automated systems, thermal energy storage tanks, concrete formwork, instrumentation in pile testing, and teaching innovations. As one of the early adopters of Flipped Learning in the School of Engineering, she has enhanced delivery in engineering design units. Notable publications include "Non-revenue water in Malaysia: influence of water distribution pipe types" (Sustainability, 2021), "“Flipping or flapping?” investigating engineering students’ experience in flipped classrooms" (2018), "Make shorter videos: Insights into Educational Video Duration from Quantitative Analytics" (AAEE 2024 Proceedings), "A review of Matlab's SISOTOOL; features and contributions to Control education" (2008), "Blended learning in engineering education: Curriculum redesign and development" (2015), and "Aircraft automatic maneouvering system using energy-based control technique" (publication details from profile). Jones received the 2019 Pro Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Education (team award) and the 2025 Dean's Award in Education for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (team lead with Chiew Yeong Shiong and Mohd Zulhilmi Paiz Ismadi).
