Rate My Professor Michaela Kindlova

Dr Michaela Kindlova is affiliated with the University of Queensland through the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences in the Faculty of Science. She is a member of the Translational Bioinformatics Research Group at Mater Research, University of Queensland. Her work includes contributions to research on nanopore sequencing applications, such as the 2025 publication An allele-resolved nanopore-guided tour of the human placental methylome, and the development of Methylartist tools for visualising modified bases from nanopore sequence data, published in 2022. She previously completed a PhD at the Department of Parasitology, Charles University in Prague, and held a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland. In 2014, she received a Go8 European Fellowship. More recently, she was awarded a 2025 Early Detection Grant for research aimed at improving early detection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma through the study of methylation changes in pancreatic lesions. In 2025, she was named the Biomedical Research Winner at Mater Research.
