Dr Michael Ma serves as Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at Curtin University Medical School. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Western Australia. A Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Gastroenterology (FRACP), Dr Ma completed his gastroenterology training in Perth, followed by advanced endoscopy fellowships at Royal Perth Hospital and Westmead Hospital in Sydney. He holds consultant positions as a Gastroenterologist at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals, as well as Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals.
Dr Ma's clinical and research interests encompass the endoscopic management of Barrett’s oesophagus, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and endoscopic resection techniques for early gastrointestinal neoplastic lesions. He has contributed to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters focused on gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy.
