Mellisa Lewis serves as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance and Academic Operations Coordinator for Engagement within the Murdoch Business School at Murdoch University. Located at room 512.1.030 on the South Street campus, she coordinates multiple undergraduate units essential to accounting education, including BUS303 Taxation, which covers Australian tax principles and planning; BUS306 Auditing, emphasizing audit processes, standards, and practices; BUS285 Technology & Accounting Information Systems; BUS163 Introduction to Accounting for practical managerial applications; BUS356 Contemporary Financial Accounting; and MBS678 Corporate Accounting. Key publications include "Identifying Linguistic Markers of CEO Hubris: A Machine Learning Approach" (2021), co-authored with Vita Akstinaite and affiliated with Murdoch Business School, which utilizes machine learning to identify linguistic indicators of CEO hubris. Another significant work is "Hubris occurrence, management and accountability in higher education institutions in Australia" (2024), co-authored with Vita Akstinaite, published in a peer-reviewed journal and exploring hubris dynamics, management strategies, and accountability mechanisms in Australian universities.
