Professor Melissa Baysari is Professor of Human Factors in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, where she holds credentials including PhD, Certified Human Factors and Ergonomics Professional (CHFEP), and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Digital Health (FAIDH). She leads the Digital Health Human Factors Group within the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery. Her research specializations encompass the safety and usability of health technologies, with a particular emphasis on the design and evaluation of computerised decision support systems, medication safety, electronic prescribing, and decision support. Professor Baysari applies human factors methods to evaluate and optimise technologies such as clinical decision support systems, electronic health records, electronic medication management systems, clinical dashboards, virtual care, and patient portals, using mixed-methods approaches to understand interactions between users, technologies, and organisations.
