Dr. Mehmet Yildiz serves as a Lecturer in Management in the School of Management, College of Business and Law at Adelaide University. A perpetual learner with a curious mind, he is fascinated by how our minds work and truly enjoys learning, researching, and teaching topics related to Applied Psychology and Management. Mehmet values the power of positivity, strategic authenticity, and confident humility, as well as their effects on professional relationships, drawing inspiration from Daniel Kahneman's reflections on his collaboration with Amos Tversky in 'Thinking, Fast and Slow'. He is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students as a co-supervisor.
Dr. Yildiz has earned several prestigious awards and grants, including the Teaching Excellence Award from SAIBT/UniSA in 2023, the Ruth Rentschler Research Grant in 2020 valued at $4,000 as the top PhD student for Tourism, Sports, or Arts Management at UniSA Business, and the Vice-Chancellor and President's Research Grant in 2019 valued at $10,000 as the top PhD student at UniSA Business. His scholarly contributions include lead authorship on 'Responsible Leadership and Innovation during COVID-19: Evidence from the Australian Tourism and Hospitality Sector' published in Sustainability in 2023, and 'Media representation of COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on Australian hospitality businesses' in Anatolia in 2023. Other notable publications are 'Developmental networks affect academics' career satisfaction through research productivity' in the International Journal of Human Resource Management in 2022, 'Is lodging research suffering from methods bias? An assessment of published research during 1990-2016' in the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology in 2021, 'Co-authorship and scientific productivity in the port studies: a social network analysis' in the Journal of Transport Economics and Policy in 2022, 'Business ethics research in healthcare management: A systematic review' in the International Journal of Healthcare Management in 2020, and various bibliometric studies on co-authorship networks in business ethics and lodging research from 2019. These works highlight his influence in management, hospitality, tourism, business ethics, and related fields through empirical and bibliometric analyses.
