Professor Matthew Huddleston is Professor of Physics in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Trevecca Nazarene University. He earned a B.A. from Greenville College, an M.Sc. from Rice University, and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. Matthew Huddleston has worked for more than two decades in the field of magnetospheric space physics and has produced various peer-reviewed research publications. He joined the faculty at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2008 and continues to serve as Professor of Physics.
In 2009, Matthew Huddleston started the Near Space Research program at Trevecca Nazarene University. Since then, he has regularly launched student research payloads to altitudes greater than 100,000 feet on weather balloons. He has helped Trevecca receive NASA, NSF and other external support for student research and has developed collaborations with numerous universities and K-12 schools. Matthew Huddleston is also a part-time author and world traveler who has had adventures in more than 40 different countries. His work emphasizes student research opportunities and educational outreach in physics.
