Marc Israel is an Instructor Mauritius within the Global Curtin portfolio at Curtin University, affiliated with the Charles Telfair Institute campus in Mauritius. He possesses a degree in Robotics and Engineering from École Supérieure d’Ingénieurs en Électrotechnique et Électronique in Paris, complemented by executive education programs at INSEAD and Wharton, completed with distinction. With more than 30 years of success across technology industries, Marc Israel spent 17 years at Microsoft as Chief Technology Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa, where he launched Office 365 across the continent and leveraged his technical leadership expertise. Transitioning to entrepreneurship, he founded Aetheis to provide executive consultancy in cognitive services, blockchain, and digital transformation; Mo Angels focused on blockchain; and Globe4Tech offering startup investment services. He currently serves as CEO of Aetheis and CTO of Globe4Tech.
In addition to his industry roles, Marc Israel lectures at Curtin University through Charles Telfair Education, as well as at HEC Paris and Université des Mascareignes. An accomplished author, he has published over 20 books in French and English covering technical and leadership topics. He is a TEDx speaker who has delivered talks on technology and a recipient of multiple National Public Speaking Awards. Marc Israel holds significant board positions, including Independent Director at Bank One since May 2022, where he contributes to the Board Strategy & Investment Committee and Board Audit Committee, and Non-Executive Director roles at Mauritius Network Services and Turbine. His involvement extends to moderating panels on artificial intelligence for good, fintech innovation, and digital strategies at events linked to Curtin Mauritius and the Charles Telfair Centre, fostering dialogue between academia, industry, and emerging technologies.
