Mallory Roberts is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dental Education and serves as the Director of the Division of Dental Education within the Dwyer School of Health Sciences at Indiana University South Bend. As a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), she also manages the Dental Hygiene Clinic and acts as the program administrator for the RDH-to-BSDH Degree Completion Pathway, overseeing the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene through both entry-level and completion options. Her academic credentials include a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Health Professions from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, completed in 2021 with a research project entitled “The Role of Social Determinants in Undergraduate Clinical Program Admissions.” She further holds a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Bridgeport, a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University South Bend, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
In her teaching, Roberts embraces a growth mindset philosophy, designing engaging, learner-centered environments that incorporate high-impact practices to stimulate multi-sensory learning. Her instructional focus areas encompass health promotion and disease prevention, interprofessional collaboration, community health assessment, planning and evaluation of health promotion programs. Driven by a strong commitment to public health, she has presented extensively at national academic conferences on topics related to community dental health. Roberts has also co-taught study abroad courses on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention in locations such as Belize and Costa Rica. Her scholarly interests lie in supporting the academic success of first-generation college students and underserved populations in health professions education. Committed to innovative pedagogy, she advocates for breaking down educational silos to offer comprehensive training for future healthcare leaders. Roberts serves on the Indiana University University Faculty Council's Budgetary Advisory Committee from 2025 to 2027 and pursues continuous professional development through leadership and mentorship opportunities.
