Dr. M. Nava Barathy serves as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Anna University Regional Campus-Tirunelveli, Tirunelveli, where she has been employed since August 23, 2010, accumulating over 13 years in this role and a total teaching experience of 19 years and 2 months. Her career trajectory includes earlier positions as Lecturer at RVS Engineering College from June 2004 to December 2004, Dr. MGR University from December 2004 to March 2007, SRM University from February 2007 to December 2007, and Senior Lecturer at Sona College of Technology from July 2008 to August 2010. She holds a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (1998-2002, First Class), an M.E. in Software Engineering from Anna University (2002-2004, First Class), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University (2013-2021, First Class).

Dr. Nava Barathy's research specializations encompass Multimedia Sensor Networks and Image Processing, with academic interests in Image and Video Processing, Wireless and Deep Learning Techniques, Multimedia Sensor Networks, and Machine Learning. Her key publications include the journal article 'Two-level data aggregation for WMSNs employing a novel VBEAO and HOSVD' published in Computer Communications (Volume 149, 2020, pp. 194-213) and 'A Novel Protein Sequence Alignment Based Patch Similarity Estimation for Two-Level Data Aggregation in WMSNs' in Wireless Personal Communications (Volume 117, 2021, pp. 2265). She has authored seven international conference papers, such as 'Fuzzy based congestion control for WMSN' (2015) and 'Segmentation of the Heart and great vessels in CT images using curvelet transform' (2013), along with nine national conference papers. As a mentor, she guided student projects 'Character recognition from palm leaf manuscript' and 'Low memory Device enhancer with battery saver,' both securing second prizes at the Two-Day Project Expo on Energizing Future India organized by Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in September 2015. A Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education, she has handled sessions in Faculty Development Programs, coordinated workshops and conferences, and currently serves as Placement Training Officer, Institution Industry Cell member, and CSE Placement Coordinator. She has successfully guided 65 M.E. projects and 24 B.E. projects.
