Dr. Lisa Jones, Ed.D., is a Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education within the University of Central Florida's College of Community Innovation and Education. She serves as a key faculty member specializing in higher education, with her office located in ED 223G. Dr. Jones earned her bachelor's degree in business administration, master's degree in public administration specializing in higher education administration, and doctorate in education focused on adult and higher education in 1997, all from North Carolina State University. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, she has made significant contributions to institutional strategy and leadership at UCF.
Previously, Dr. Jones held the position of Associate Provost for Strategy and Special Assistant to the President since August 2016, where she worked closely with faculty, staff, and key leaders across campus to facilitate the institutionalization of UCF's new collective impact strategic plan. She developed a framework, processes, templates, and other resources to support the development of a UCF institutionalization plan. Her efforts focused on improving knowledge sharing, collaboration, collective thinking, collective action, and co-ownership of university-wide priority metrics. Additionally, she led an institution-wide effort to create a more comprehensive and collaborative approach to community engagement. Dr. Jones participated in the Preeminence and Performance-based Funding (P2S) Executive Team and contributed to various strategic initiatives. She is an Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership Fellow (2016-17), a former American Council on Education Fellow (2015-16), a Food Systems Leadership Fellow, and a graduate of the Harvard Management and Leadership in Education program.
