Lianne Zalac is a lecturer in the College of Education, Behavioural and Social Science at Adelaide University. She is actively involved in the delivery of courses within UniSA Education Futures, now part of the new Adelaide University structure following the merger of the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide. Her teaching encompasses mathematics and science education tailored for early childhood and primary education contexts. As course coordinator and instructor, she facilitates student learning in specialized areas critical for future educators.
Among the courses Lianne Zalac teaches are Mathematics Education (Early Childhood), aimed at helping early childhood students further develop their conceptual understanding of mathematics and responsive pedagogy in early childhood settings. Mathematics for Primary Educators 1 focuses on developing the mathematical skills and knowledge necessary for teaching mathematics in the primary years of schooling, with a particular emphasis on number. She also instructs Primary Mathematics Education 2, Mathematics and Science Education (Birth to 5 Years), Mathematics and Science Education 1, and Science Education. These courses are conducted at various locations including the Magill campus at Samsung SMARTSchool and Mawson Lakes campus at Garth Boomer building. Through these offerings, Lianne Zalac supports the preparation of teachers equipped to foster mathematical and scientific literacy in young learners across multiple educational stages.
