Rate My Professor Laurie Battle

Laurie Battle is a distinguished professor in Mathematics, currently serving as Professor and Department Head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montana Technological University. Throughout her career, she has held positions including Associate Professor at Montana Tech since 2010, Assistant Professor at the same institution from 2006-2007 and 2008-2010, Visiting Assistant Professor at Idaho State University (2007-2008), and Assistant Professor at Georgia College and State University (2003-2006). Her academic interests lie in applied mathematics, with a focus on mathematical biology and modeling ecological systems. Battle's research examines population dynamics and interactions in aquatic environments. Notable projects include developing a stochastic simulation model for native Yellowstone cutthroat trout and non-native rainbow trout in the South Fork Snake River, Idaho, assessing management strategies for species viability. She has also collaborated on models predicting the impact of dam removal on Taiwan's endangered Formosan landlocked salmon.
