Rate My Professor Kumar Yogeeswaran

Kumar Yogeeswaran is a Professor in the School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing at the University of Canterbury in the Faculty of Science. He earned his PhD in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2012. Yogeeswaran joined the University of Canterbury in 2012 and has served as Associate Head of School (Research). He was recently appointed as Professor. His prior role included serving as Principal Scientific Advisor in the Secretary's Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the US Department of State through an American Association for the Advancement of Science fellowship.

Yogeeswaran is a social psychologist whose research examines intergroup relations, diversity, national identity, and toleration, with a focus on factors that contribute to conflict and coexistence in pluralistic societies characterized by ethnic, religious, and ideological diversity. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and a Fellow of the Society for Experimental Social Psychology. Yogeeswaran maintains an active research profile with significant scholarly impact, as evidenced by thousands of citations to his work.
