Rate My Professor Kristan West

Kristan West serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Government Relations, Chris Yianilos, within Virginia Tech's Office of Government and Community Relations. She joined the team in June of 2025. In this capacity, she oversees the daily operations of the Blacksburg office at 134 Burruss Hall, manages the Vice President's scheduling requirements, and acts as the primary point of contact for both internal and external relations pertaining to the office. Furthermore, she offers event management support and executes special assignments as directed by other team members. The Office of Government and Community Relations is responsible for representing Virginia Tech to federal, state, and local government officials and agencies, ensuring the university's interests are effectively advocated.

Kristan West began her tenure at Virginia Tech in 2023 as an Office Associate in Student Affairs Advancement. Soon after, in 2024, she transitioned to the position of Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Radford University. Kristan West resides in Blacksburg, Virginia, alongside her two children, Eva and Emery. Her progressive administrative roles at the university highlight her expertise in supporting high-level operations across various departments, contributing to the smooth functioning of key administrative functions at Virginia Tech.
