Professor Kishan Dholakia is an ARC Laureate Fellow and Director of the Centre of Light for Life at the University of Adelaide, where he has served as Professor since 2020. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Atomic and Laser Physics from Imperial College London in 1993. Previously, Dholakia was Professor of Physics at the University of St Andrews from 2003, founding the Centre of Biophotonics there, and holds ongoing honorary appointments as Distinguished Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras since 2017, Affiliate Professor at Yonsei University since 2019, Honorary Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona since 2005, and Visiting Professor at Chiba University from 2012 to 2022.
