Prof. Kavita Shrivastav is the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Training and Placement Officer at Alard College of Engineering and Management, which is part of the Alard Group of Institutes in Pune, India. She brings over 20 years of teaching experience from various universities to her current roles. Her academic qualifications include a B.E. in Power Electronics Engineering from Nagpur University in 1997 and an M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Power Systems from Suresh Deshmukh College of Engineering, Wardha. In addition to her departmental leadership, she serves on key institutional committees such as the Internal Quality Assurance Cell as coordinator member, Grievance Redressal Committee, Board of Examination Committee, and Fee Fixation Committee.
Prof. Shrivastav has implemented project-based learning across all levels at the institution, fostering collaborative work on real-world problems among students. She has contributed to the development and implementation of a new STEM curriculum and participated in policy discussions on educational reform. Her research specializations and academic interests include the design and fabrication of electrical machines, design of power drives, challenges in electric vehicles, and illumination schemes. Key publications co-authored by her include 'Single Phase Fault Analysis for Temporary and Permanent Fault' published in 2018 in the Asian Journal for Convergence in Technology, 'Automatic Method of Protection of Transformer Using PIC Microcontroller' (2018), and 'Design and Fabrication of a Single Sided Three Phase Linear Induction Motor' (2018). Through expert lectures, industrial visits, internships, certification courses, and placement activities, she equips students with skills for roles such as junior engineers in transmission and distribution, Indian Railways, electrical contracting, designing, and maintenance engineering.
