Dr. Kavicharan Mummaneni serves as Assistant Professor-I in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Silchar. He obtained his B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad in 2006, M.Tech in Electronics Design and Technology from the National Institute of Technology Calicut in 2009, and Ph.D. in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal in 2015. His research specializations include VLSI interconnects, signal integrity, power integrity, device modelling, carbon nanotube interconnects, VLSI, semiconductor device modelling and simulation, and stretchable electronics.
Dr. Mummaneni's career includes roles as Assistant Professor-II at NIT Silchar from June 2018 to July 2022, Assistant Professor at Thapar University Patiala from July 2017 to June 2018, and Associate Professor at MREC(A) Hyderabad from January 2015 to June 2017. He holds memberships as Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of IETE India, and Member of IEEE Electron Devices Society. With 94 publications comprising 43 journal articles, 38 conference papers, 12 book chapters, and 1 book, key works include "Hybrid Nanocomposite Enhanced RF MEMS Shunt Switches integrated into a Modular Reconfigurable Tunable Filter Architecture for Beam-Steerable Phased Arrays" in Journal of Electronic Materials (2026), "Low-Voltage U-Shaped RF MEMS Shunt Switch Integration for K-Band Phased Array Beam Steering" in Scientific Reports (2026), and the book "Emerging Interconnect Technologies for Integrated Circuit and Flexible Electronics" (2023, Springer). He has secured three granted patents on negative capacitance devices and RF filters. His research garners 453 citations with an h-index of 11. Dr. Mummaneni has guided four Ph.D. students, contributed to projects like the Development of Low Cost Early Warning System for Detection of Earthquake Induced Landslide (Rs 4,900,000), and served as resource person for workshops on mixed signal design, Cadence tools, and CMOS-MEMS technologies.
