Das's research focuses on the design and operation of utility-scale hybrid power plants, power system balancing, integration of renewable power generation, dynamic modelling and control of wind power, and grid integration of renewables. He leads major projects such as GREAT (PI, €3.2 million), HAVEN (€5.9 million), SOLARX (€3 million), and IEA Wind Task 50 as operating agent. He developed the open-source HyDesign tool for optimizing hybrid power and energy plants. His work has garnered over 2,200 citations. Awards include the AEG Elektronfonden’s Elektron Award (2022), Best Paper in MPCE journal (2020), Top Cited Article in WIREs Energy and Environment (2019-2020), and Best Poster at Wind Offshore Copenhagen (2019). Das contributes to WindEurope's System Integration Working Group, CIGRE JWG C6/C2.34, and serves as editor for special issues in Energies.
