Kanchanamala Geekiyanage holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B. Hons.) and a Master of Law (LL.M.) from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) from the UK and is an Attorney-at-Law with 17 years of experience.

Ms. Geekiyanage has served as Dean of the Faculty of Law at KIU, Sri Lanka. She delivered lectures on 'Rules of Statutory Interpretation – Part 1 – Literal Rule' for Year 2 Semester 1 LL.B. (Hons) students at KIU. She organized the 'LAW for Youth' free online webinar conducted by the Faculty of Law at KIU. She is noted as a Visiting Lecturer of Law.
