Dr. K. Sathish Kumar is Professor and Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering (SSN). With an M.Tech and Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, he possesses 19 years and 6 months of total experience, including 15 years and 6 months at SSN since June 16, 2006, and 4 years prior. His research focuses on nanomaterials, drug delivery, enzyme immobilization, nanofluids, biological and environmental applications of nanomaterials, quantum dots synthesis, and polymer nanocomposites. He has published 67 papers in refereed journals at SSN, along with book chapters such as those in "Enzyme Inhibition – Environmental and Biomedical Applications" (Bentham Science Publishers) and "Diffusion Limitations in Biocatalytic Reactions" (CRC Press, 2019).

Prominent publications encompass "Improvisation of diffusion coefficient in surface modified magnetite nanoparticles: A novel perspective" (Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2019), "Heat transfer enhancement using single base and double base nanofluids" (Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2016), "Functionalised nanoformulation of Swertiamarin with enhanced stability and hemocompatibility" (Materials Technology, 2021), and "Prominent studies on surface properties and diffusion coefficient of Urease conjugated Magnetic Nanoparticles" (Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2018). Dr. Kumar has completed supervision of 11 Ph.D. scholars and is guiding 4 ongoing. He has led SSN Trust-funded projects including "Synthesis of Metal Nanoparticles for drug delivery applications" (2010-2011, Rs. 8.25 lakhs) and "Bandgap tuning of Molybdenum and tungsten doped BFO multiferroic materials" (2020-2021, Rs. 3.60 lakhs), and participated in consultancies totaling over Rs. 12 lakhs. Awards include Best Faculty honors in 2007, 2012, and 2013, runner-up in Entrepreneurship Week-India 2013, and Best Researcher Award for 2017-18. A Life Member of IIChE and ISTE, he has held roles like Chief Superintendent for Anna University exams and Board of Studies member at Sathyabama University.
