Julie Young is a Lecturer in Midwifery in the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University, based at the Gold Coast campus. She holds a Master of Midwifery Studies (MMidwiferySt) from the University of Newcastle. As Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Midwifery program on the Gold Coast campus, she oversees the delivery and management of this key educational offering in midwifery training. Her role involves ensuring high standards in the preparation of students for professional midwifery practice.
Julie Young also serves as a Midwifery Professional Experience (MPE) Unit Assessor for the Bachelor of Midwifery program. She is responsible for assessing MPE2B in the second year and MPE3B in the third year, contributing to the evaluation of students' clinical competencies and practical experiences. In November 2024, she was promoted to Lecturer Level B, reflecting her dedication and effectiveness in teaching within the Faculty of Health.
