Jon Lundquist is a Professor and Program Coordinator of Interactive Media at Columbus State Community College, contributing to the Arts and Culture faculty through his work in the Art, Media, and Design department. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University. With a distinguished career spanning 25 years at the college, as recognized by the 2024 25-Year of Service Award, Lundquist has exemplified leadership and dedication in higher education. In 2014, he received the Distinguished Full Professor Award, which honors professors for exemplary service, scholarship, innovation, and leadership, serving as a model for faculty peers.
Lundquist has played a pivotal role in program development and grant-funded initiatives. He collaborated with Associate Professor Peter Carswell of Information Systems Technology to conceptualize and implement the Mobile App Design Associate of Applied Science and Mobile App Development Associate of Applied Science degree programs. As Principal Investigator for the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (ATE) grant titled Strengthening Mobile Application Resources and Technician Training (SMARTT), he advanced curriculum that incorporates emerging techniques, including virtual simulations and hybrid app development using React Native. Lundquist led a weeklong workshop on Hybrid App Development using React Native as part of the 2020 Working Connections program and represented Columbus State at the ATE Principal Investigators Conference. He also served as Lead Panel Expert for the Career-Technical Credit Transfer (CT)² Visual Design CTAG alignment. His efforts have enhanced technician training in interactive media, mobile app design, and related technologies, preparing students for professional opportunities in these fields.
